The fitness industry is hot on the heels of workout recovery. There are many ways to speed up recovery, whether it be through supplements, mobility tools or CBD cream.
It is important to recover from training. Exercise is a stressful activity that can cause injury to the body. The process of recovery is what makes you stronger, more fit, and faster. You may not need to take expensive supplements for your recovery.
Apex Performance believes in simplicity and effectiveness. Before you can reap the benefits of recovery hacks, we want to make sure that you get the best bang for your buck.
These are our four favorite workout recovery tools:
1) Gentle movement such as walking, stretching or swimming
It may seem tempting to just lay down on the couch after a hard workout. However, gentle movement is often what you need to help sore muscles. Walking, biking, stretching and swimming are all activities that promote blood flow to your body so it can replenish and repair itself.
2) Get plenty of sleep
For strength and conditioning, sleep is essential. Our bodies produce hormones and run processes during sleep that aid us in adapting to and recovering from training sessions.
Poor sleep quality will not only hinder recovery but also affect your ability and performance in the next few days. This blog will show you how to improve your sleep hygiene.
3) High-quality food items
It is important to eat a variety of healthy fats and protein in order to recover from injury. Protein is the building blocks of new muscle tissue. Proper fat intake supports hormonal health. Carbohydrates replenish energy lost during intense exercise. You will also find a variety of foods that provide a range of micronutrients, vitamins, and minerals to support various recovery processes, including detox, bone health, muscle building, fat loss, and even weight loss.
4) Proper hydration
We recommend drinking enough water throughout each day. Your body will function properly if you replenish fluids that have been lost during training sessions.
As a guideline, drink half of your bodyweight in ounces per day. A 200lb person should drink 100 ounces of water daily, at the most.
These four simple steps will help you recover faster from your workouts, and get better results. Although creams and shakes are great, they’re not the main ingredient in recovery.
Apex Performance believes in “fundamentals rather than flash” when it comes to all things. We make sure that you have the basics of everything, from exercise to nutrition to lifestyle, before moving on to more complex, and often more costly, options.
